Barneche Clothing: timeless style with sumptuous
detailing. All of Stephanie’s coats,jackets and vests are reversible – in essence each
piece is two garments - with one side typically being more dressy than the other.
In addition to regional vintage fabrics, Stephanie seeks out and reuses antique
Japanese fabrics, Obi fabrics and fabrics from former kimonos to recycle into sumptuous
girl’s dresses, clutches and hidden treasures in larger garments. Much of her
inspiration derives from the textiles themselves. One of her pleasures as an artist is
to help her clients pull down fabrics from her shelves and choose clothes that allow them
to become their own characters. “I don’t design for the media body – the person none of
us is,” says Stephanie. “I make what I like.” Custom clothing and purse design available
in different sizes and fabrics. |

Elegant juxtaposition of colors and textures make each jacket a wearable work of art.
Displaying it on a hanger allows a glimpse of luxurious fabrics like silk, brocade,
Jacquards, vintage cotton, obi and kimono and vintage bark cloth. Many customers do
just that when they are not wearing the jacket. Designs available for men and women. |

Inspired by
David’s daughter, Margaux who always skips to get where she’s going, the Margaux
dress is available for girls aged six months to 9 years. The dresses are made from
new and vintage textiles. This dress is one of a kind and has adjustable
shoulder ties and lined bodices. Vintage textiles are washed before the dress
is made. These are vintage materials; occasionally there are small imperfections.
We do our best to eliminate them before cutting and we do not use any textile that
would not hold up in a garment. Sizes: 1,2,4,6,8 fitting girls up to age 9. |
